SSC GPA Calculator for Bangladesh students 2026

What is an SSC GPA Calculator?

An SSC GPA Calculator is an online tool that instantly calculates your Secondary School Certificate (SSC) Grade Point Average using the
Bangladesh Education Board grading system. Simply enter your subject grades or marks, and the tool computes your GPA within seconds — including the 4th subject bonus.

This SSC GPA calculator is designed for students who appeared in the SSC examination under the Bangladesh Education Board (Dhaka, Chattogram, Rajshahi, Cumilla, Jashore, Sylhet, Barishal, Dinajpur, Mymensingh) and also for Madrasah and Technical boards following the same grading scale.

How to Calculate SSC GPA (Step-by-Step)

Calculating your SSC GPA manually is simple if you know the formula. The formula is:

GPA = (Total Grade Points of Main Subjects + 4th Subject Bonus) ÷ Number of Main Subjects

  • Step 1: Convert each subject’s marks into grade points using the Bangladesh grading scale.
  • Step 2: Add the grade points of all main subjects.
  • Step 3: Take the 4th (optional) subject’s grade point, subtract 2.00 from it, and add the result as a bonus.
  • Step 4: Divide the total by the number of main subjects.

The result is your SSC GPA on a 5.00 scale.

Marks RangeLetter GradeGrade Point
80-100A+5.00
70-79A4.00
60-69A-3.50
50-59B3.00
40-49C2.00

Any subject with a grade of F makes the overall GPA 0.00.

4th Subject Bonus Rule in SSC

The 4th subject is an optional subject in SSC. Its grade points are counted differently:

  • Only the points above 2.00 count as a bonus.
  • Formula: Bonus = (4th Subject GP – 2.00)
  • If the 4th subject GP is 2.00 or less, no bonus is added.
  • Getting a poor grade in the 4th subject does NOT reduce your GPA.
SSC 4th subject bonus calculation formula with example

Example: If your 4th subject grade is A+ (GP 5.00), the bonus is 5.00 – 2.00 = 3.00

What is Golden A+ in SSC?

Golden A+ (also called Golden GPA 5.00) is awarded when a student secures A+ (Grade Point 5.00) in every subject — including the 4th subject — without any exception.

If you receive A+ in all subjects, your GPA is 5.00. Note that a regular GPA 5.00 can also be achieved with one or two A grades if the 4th subject bonus compensates.

SSC GPA Calculation Example

Suppose a student (Science group) received the following grades:

SubjectGraadeGrade Point
BanglaA+5.00
EnglishA4.00
MathematicsA+5.00
IctA+5.00
PhysicsA+5.00
ChemistryA4.00
BiologyA+5.00
Higher MathematicsA+5.00
ReligionA+5.00
4th Subject (Biology)A+5.00

Main subjects: 9

Total main grade points: 43.00

4th subject bonus: 5.00 – 2.00 = 3.00

Total = 43.00 + 3.00 = 46.00

GPA = 46.00 ÷ 9 = 5.00 (Golden A+)

When Does SSC GPA Become 0.00?

Your overall SSC GPA becomes 0.00 if you receive an F grade in any main subject. An F grade in the 4th subject does not affect the GPA, as the 4th subject is not counted in the main calculation.

Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ)

How is the 4th subject counted in SSC GPA?

The grade points of the 4th subject above 2.00 are added as a bonus to the total grade points of the main subjects.

Can I get GPA 5.00 without Golden A+?

Yes. GPA 5.00 is possible even if you don’t have A+ in every subject, as long as the 4th subject bonus compensates.

How many subjects are counted in SSC GPA?

Normally 9 or 10 main subjects, depending on the group. The 4th subject is counted separately as a bonus.

Does the SSC GPA calculator include the 4th subject bonus automatically?

Yes, our calculator automatically adds the 4th subject bonus when you enter the grade for the optional subject.

What happens if I fail in the 4th subject?

Failing in the 4th subject does not affect your GPA. It simply means no bonus is added.
